Montana's Qualifying Conditions
Montana's qualifying conditions include cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, cachexia or wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures including epilepsy, severe or persistent muscle spasms including multiple sclerosis, PTSD, Crohn's disease, and admittance into hospice care, among others. Only a Montana-licensed physician (MD or DO) may complete the required Physician Statement — nurse practitioners are not authorized under Montana's program. The Registration Process for Havre Patients
Montana's Medical Marijuana Program, administered by the Cannabis Control Division of the Montana Department of Revenue, has two steps. A Havre patient books a telehealth appointment with a Montana-licensed physician through this platform. The physician evaluates the patient's qualifying condition and, if appropriate, completes the Physician Statement. The patient then applies through Montana's TAP portal at tap.dor.mt.gov, submitting the statement, a Montana ID, a photo, and the state fee.
